Vulcan XC-72R-supported Fe catalysts have been synthesised for the electroreduction of CO2 to high-added value products. Catalystswereobtainedbythepolyolmethod,usingethyleneglycolassolventandreducingagent.Priortothemetaldeposition, Vulcanwassubjectedtodi?erentoxidationtreatmentsinordertomodifyitssurfacechemistryandstudyitsin?uenceonthe physicochemicalandelectrochemicalpropertiesofthecatalysts,aswellasontheproductdistribution.Theoxidationtreatments ofthesupportsmodifytheirtexturalproperties,butdonota?ectsigni?cantlythephysicochemicalpropertiesofcatalysts.However, DEMSstudiesshowedthatthecarbonsupportdegradation,thedistributionofproducts,andthecatalyticactivitytowardtheCO2 electroreductionreactiondependsigni?cantlyonthesurfacechemistryofthecarbonsupport. 1.Introduction sincetheproductdistributionstronglydependsontheused material, surfacemetallicarrangem
