Virustitersobtained byTCID50-ELISAwerecomparable tothoseobtainedby theplaque assayandbythe traditionalTCID50-cytopathiceffect(CPE)test(TCID50-CPE),withabetterreproducibilityandalowercoefficientofvariation. QuantitativecomparisonofTCID50-ELISAandTCID50-CPEresultedinacorrelationcoefficientof0.976.Moreover,thisnew methodshowedawiderapplicationtoC6/36,VeroE6,BHK-21,andVerocellscomparedwithothertitrationmethods.In summary,thenovelTCID50-ELISAmethoddescribedhereprovidesamorereliableandmoreaccuratealternativecompared totheplaqueassayandTCID50-CPEfortitrationofdenguevirus.
