Methods:Questionnaireswerecollectedfromarepresentativenationwidesampleof1,194adolescentsagedfrom 11to17years.InternalconsistencyreliabilitywasdeterminedbycalculationoftheCronbachacoefficient.A confirmatoryfactoranalysis(CFA)wasconductedinordertotesttheconstructvalidityofthequestionnaire. ValiditywasfurtherexaminedbyinvestigatingthecorrelationofKIDSCREENwiththeStrengthsandDifficulties Questionnaire(SDQ)anditsassociationwithsocioeconomicandhealth-relatedfactors. Results:InternalconsistencyreliabilitywasacceptedwithaCronbachaabove0.73forallKIDSCREENdimensions. CFAshowedthattheten-dimensionalmodelfittedthedatawell(rootmeansquareerrorofapproximation (RMSEA)=0.048,comparativefitindex(CFI)=0.971andgoodnessoffitindex(GFI)=0.965).Correlation coefficientsbetweenKIDSCREENandSDQdimensionsweresignificant.Adolescentsoflowsocioeconomicstatus reportedlowerscoresinthemajorityofKIDSCREENdimensions.Also,adolescentswithchronichealthproblemhad poorerqualityoflifeconcerningphysicalwell-beingandotherdimensionsofKIDSCREEN. Conclusions:TheGreekversionofKIDSCREEN-52wasfoundtohavesatisfiedpsychometricpropertiesandcould besuitableforassessingHRQoLinGreekadolescents.
