Results revealed alterations of network properties including a change in the degree distribution, reduced overall strength in connectivity, and increased ‘‘small-worldness’’ from3monthsto6monthspostinjury.Thefindingshereindicatethat,duringrecoveryfrominjury,thestrengthbutnot thenumberofnetworkconnectionsdiminishes,sothatoverthecourseofrecovery,thenetworkbeginstoapproximate whatisobservedinhealthyadults.Thesearethefirstdataexaminingfunctionalconnectivityinadisruptedneuralsystem duringrecovery.
