Aims:TotestthevalidityoftheStandardisedAssessmentofPersonality:AbbreviatedScale(SAPAS)asascreenfor PDinaclinicalsampleofsubstanceabusers. Methods:ConvergentvalidityoftheSAPASwithbothcategoricalanddimensionalrepresentationsofpersonality disorderswasestimated. Results:Inthissample,theSAPAScorrelatedwellwithdimensionalrepresentationsofclusterAandCpersonality disorders,evenaftercontrollingforADHDsymptoms,anxiety/depressionsymptomsandrecentsubstanceuse.The SAPASwasalsosignificantlyassociatedwithtotalnumberofPDcriteria,althoughcorrelationwithcategorical measuresofPDwasweak.
