No effect is seen with non-tumorigenic cells. Tumor suppressionassaysrevealthatthemuscle-mediatedtumorsuppressoreffectsdonotgenerateresistantclonesbutfunction through the down-regulation of the transcription factor MiTF, a master regulator of melanocyte development and a melanomaoncogene.Ourfindingspointtoskeletalmuscleasasourceoftherapeuticagentsinthetreatmentofmetastatic cancers.
