Here we show novel expression of SNAI1 and SNAI2 throughout mouse preimplantation developmentrevealingasymmetricallocalizationofbothSNAI1andSNAI2inindividualblastomeresbeginningatthe2-cell stagethroughtothe8-cellstagewhereSNAI1andSNAI2arethenonlydetectedinoutercellsandnotinnercellsofthe blastocyst.ThisstudyimplicatesSNAI1andSNAI2inthelineagesegregationofthetrophectodermandinnercellmass,and providesnewinsightintotheseoncogenes.
