Key difficult points 1) Status and function In this lesson, the teaching materials are designed to develop the students reading skills and strategies,such as predicting,skimming , scanning and summarizing and so on. 2)Teaching aims By the end of the lesson, the students are be able to 1.Understand the words and expressions in the text, such as rectangular, temperature range and phrase stand for. 2.Grasp the gist of the article after skimming it 5.Know the social meanings expressed by the traditional African clothing and increase cross-cultural awareness 3.Locate the specific information after scanning it 4.Know how to analyse the structure of expository writing 3). Key difficult points New words and expressions in the text, such as rectangular, temperature range and phrase stand for. How to improve their reading skills as scanning, skimming, information-gathering and summarizing.
