一个中国教师的海外课堂教学案例 　　* Subject: 　　electives: Chinese language and culture 　　* Grade level: 　　Mixed with sixth and seventh grade 　　*My own elective class. 　　What challenging situation I met is: Let me tell a story. 　　I have three periods of lessons every day and an elective class on Chinese language and culture every other day. What makes me feel tired is that the school schedule which makes me give the 3 or 4 lessons continuously, I mean non-any-break, even one minute, which is very different from that we have been used to for many years. You know biological clock works! So every day I feel tired especially when I start my 4th class, unfortunately it is the one-hour long elective course with mixed 6th and 7th grade students. 　　The three regular classes are quite good though there are some small questions but I’ve controlled well, I believe so. 　　But the elective class was not. After the first day’s excitement and politeness, the kids became less patient, and they didn’t understand their dear teacher was very tired after the three very non-break lessons, and a few boys became trouble makers. 　　Take one boy as example: he was a typical question maker. When I introducing something about the lesson, he raised his hand, began his first question. I stopped talking to answer his first question happily though this was not close related to the topic we were covering but it was about Chinese culture or China. We always encourage students to find questions. It was good, I believe so. After answering the first question, I went on my former introduction. The guy gave another question to me to answer before I finished the same sentence! I patiently answered the second question, forgetting my tiredness. It was OK. Then I went on my former topic. Even before I finished the very same sentence, a third question was put on in front of me by the same guy, still about Chinese culture or at least what ever about China but obviously not related the topic I was covering!
