The definition of ideology Generally speaking, an ideology can be defined as a system of widely shared ideas, patterned beliefs, guiding norms and values, and ideals accepted as truth by a particular group of people. Ideologies offer individuals a more or less coherent picture of the world. The distorted ideas are often employed to maintain the interests of dominant power structure. Some ideologists present the public with agenda to discuss, claims to make and questions to ask in order to imbue society with the norms and values they prefer. Ideology connects theory and practice. The Republicby Plato Plate divided the country into three classes: ruling class with strictly philosophy education, warrior caste and civilian class. Plate scorned personal happiness, emphasized the integrity. In Plato’s eyes, the third class people are inferior, and be cheated. Globalization also contains an ideological dimension.
