Wit pc loroaniline( PCA) as a select ed substrate, t e mixed microorganisms assimilating it as t e sole source of carbon and nitrogen were obtained by acclimation tec nique from t e enric ed cultural products of degraded pdic lorobenzen( pDCB) . T e mixed microorganisms immobi lized in a packedbed reactor were used to degrade PCA. In t e packedbed bioreactor, t e - Uv biodegradation of PCA follow ed t e Logistic equation, q = qmax/ ( 1+ e ) . T e major ki netic parameters, K ( alf velocity constant) and q (maximum specific substrate degradation s max rate) , were calculated. PCA was found to be degraded wit a concomitant release of c loride ions into t e substrate. Under t e conditions of residence time of 3 ours and inlet stream at PCA concentration of 360mgL- 1, t e volumetric degradation rate of t e substrate was 125mg - 1 - 1 L , w it removal efficiency of 91% .
