有机碳沉积对地球的作用（The role of organic carbon deposition in the earth） Guangdong Ocean University Yong Yan Liao (e-mail: rock6783@126.com) The sedimentary carbonate rock is 6 * 107Gt (1Gt=109t), and the organic matter is deposited at 1.5 * 107Gt (Falkowski, et., al., 2000). Because of the following equations (Cao Zongxun and Wu Xiangyu, 1979) Photosynthesis forms 1 moles (CH20) of organic matter, producing 1 moles of O2 and fixing 1 moles CO2. Simply put, plant photosynthesis forms 1 moles (CH20) and will fix 1 moles CO2. According to (9), 1 moles of CO2 per 1 moles of CaCO3 or MgCO3 will be formed. So it can also be said that plant photosynthesis forms 1 moles (CH20) and causes 1 moles of CaCO3 or MgCO3 to precipitate. The molecular weight of organic matter (CH2O) is 30, the molecular weight of CaCO3 is 100, and the molecular weight of MgCO3 is 84.3. We assume that CaCO3 and MgCO3 are 50% of carbonate sedimentary rocks in the crust, and the average molecular weight of carbonate sedimentary rocks is 92.15. The quality of organic matter (CH2O) and carbonate rocks than =30 / 92.15 * 100%=32.5%. Because sedimentary organic matter, mainly kerogen (Kerogen), accounts for about 80-90% of sedimentary organic matter (Durand, 1980; Zhang Houfu et al., 1999). Durand and so on, according to elemental analysis of 440 kerogen samples from all over the world, found that kerogen is mainly composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen. The average percentage of quality: carbon: 76.4%, hydrogen: 6.3%, oxygen: 11.1%, these three accounted for 93.8%, is the main component of kerogen (Durand, 1980). Because the atomic weight of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen is 12, 1 and 16, respectively, the molecule can be abbreviated as C64H63O7 according to the atomic ratio of kerogen. C64H63O7 and (CH20) compare markedly with less oxygen and hydrogen.
