Shanghai 201306) Abstract Many areas including active databases , XML documentation and semantic Web have employed active rules , the confluence property of which maintains the data consistency of database for guaranteeing high data quality , while current methods are not effective to detect the confluence of an active rule set. Based on rule commutativity , the existing methods is designed for rules with priority , but they cannot support for an active rule set without priority; on the other hand , they do not consider whether any two different rules executive sequences can be satisfied by the same initial database state and then can be executed. To address these problems of the existing methods , the concepts of f xclusive rule and confluence requirement with confluence theorem are proposed. Moreover , a new algorithm of confluence detection is provided for an active rule set with exclusive rules , and its correctness and termination are proved. Key words active database; rule analysis; confluence; exclusive rule; data quality 摘要主动规则已经应用于主动数据库、XML 文档和语义网络等领域，主动规则集的汇流性维护了数 据库的数据一致性、保证了数据质量，但现有方法不能有效地判定主动规则集的汇流性.现有的方法基 于规则可交换性进行判定，但只是针对指定了优先级的规则集，对没有指定优先级的规则集的汇流性没 有相应的判定方法;同时也没有考虑在同一个初始状态下，不同的规则调度是否都能被条件满足.为此， 提出了排他性选择规则的概念和更有效的汇流性先决条件及其汇流判定定理.同时给出了新的判定算 法的完整描述及其可终止性、正确性证明和复杂度分析. 关键词 主动数据库;规则分析;汇流性;排他选择规则;数据质量 中图法分类号 TP31 1. 131 主动规则近年来吸引了较多的关注，已经应用
