Methods We used polymerase chain reactionspecific sequence primers method to type HLADRB1, DQB1 subregion in the patients with PV of Han nationality from Shandong Province and matched control subjects. Results The results demonstrated that DR4, DRB1 * 14 (* 1401, * 1404, * 1405) gene frequencies were significantly higher in PV than those in controls (Pc lt;005). Further typing of DR4 positive subjects revealed that the gene frequencies of DRB1 * 0406 were significantly in PV patients compared with controls (P lt;005). Conclusion The results suggested that HLADRB1 * 14 may be the susceptible haplotypes for PV patients in Chinese Han.
