ABSTRACTNowadays, the world automobile industry develop on an unprecedented scale . Since reform and opening , China s economic develop at an alarming rate of development, at hesame time，China s automotive industry is also accompanied by rapid economic growth inChina and progress. It affects daily a travel to our way of life growingly. however,energy consumption , environmental pollution, and travel security issues have become increasingly prominent .Therefore, the research of automobile fuel economy , travel safety and ride comfort will also be the future direction of development ; Auto attendantly its fault detection and diagnosis are becoming increasingly important . In this paper, we study the electronic throttle control system , the degree of opening of the throttle valve system is not entirely dependent on the drivers direct operation of the accelerator pedal , electronic throttle control system according to the current conditions to intervene the opening degree of valve timely , to make the engine in the most optimal mode of operation, thereby improving automobile fuel economy, safety and travel ride comfort and so on.By reading a lot of literature , first of all , I acquaintance the electronic throttle basic working principle and the main characteristics ,and research the current development of electronic throttle , relevant content as well as the difficulties that may be encountered deeply. Summing up the general fault of the throttle causes and conventional detection methods . by making physical detector ,we detect electronic throttle , in order to determine the integrity of the internal resistance of the stepper motor idle speed in the motor , and detect the position sensor of the throttle , as well as electronic throttle signal value at each angle is normal and judge the throttle valve is catching and so on.
