DuetothepolyTandpolyGinthesequencesofpetA-psbJandtrnS-fM,respectively,itneededsequencingbothendsoftheloci,anditaffectedthefeasibilityofthesetworegionsasDNAbarcodestosomeextent.ButinviewofthehighestresolutionofpetA-psbJ,we suggestedthatmatKandpetA-psbJshouldbethecandidateDNAbarcodesinPicea.TheresolutionrateofspeciesdistributedinNorthAmericawashigherthanthatof Eurasia.SpeciesdistributedinNorthAmericawereallresolvedinthetwo-locuscombination,buttherewerestill40%ofspeciesdistributedinEurasiaremainingunresolvedevenwhenalleightlocicombinated.ItsuggestedthatspeciesdistributedinNorthAmericamaybegoodspeciesandclassifiedreasonably,orbyreasonthatour samplesofthosespecieswerelimited.TheremaybesomereasonstoexplainwhyeightspeciesdistributedinEurasiawereunresolvedinallcombinations.abilityofchloroplastgenometodiscriminatespeciesmaybelimitedTheresolutionhadreachedthehighestratewhentwolocicombinated(petA-psbJ+matKandpetA-psbJ+trnS-fM),anditwasunchangedwhenanyotherlociadded.ItsuggestedthattheremaybeanupperlimittousechloroplastgenometodiscriminatespeciesofPicea,
