AbstractThesecurityrequirementofsecretinformationtransmissionisbecomingstricterindigitalage.Thetraditionalcryptographytechnologyencryptstheprotectedinformationtogettheciphertextwhichishardforunderstanding.Thoughtheciphertextishardtounderstand,itwouldleaktheexistenceofencryptionbehaviorandabsorbtheattackers’attention.Theattackerswouldintercept,breakorreplaytheciphertextandbringaseriousthreattothesecurityofthesecretinformationtransmission.DataHidingistryingtochangethissituation.Itcanmaketheexistenceofsecretinformationunnoticeablebyhidingitintothosecommonfiles.Usingpublic(non-dedicatedfacilities)digitalcoverstotransmitinformationsecretlycanprotectnotonlythecontentoftheinformationbutalsothesecretbehaviors(encryptionandtransmission).Inrecentyears,H.264/AVCvideoencode/decodestandardhasgainedpopularityrapidlyforitshighcompressionefficiencyandoutstandingnetwork-friendlyproperty,andhasbecomeoneofthemostconventionalwaysforvideotransmission.Thus,itisabrand-newresearchonsecureandrobustdatahidingmethodbyutilizingwidely-usedH.264/AVCvideostoprotectthesecretinformationtransmissionsecurityinunsafecircumstance.Theintra-framedistortiondriftproblemhasbeenraisedtobethekeyissueofthecovertcommunicationutilizingH.264/AVCvideocovers.BasedonthesummaryoftheexistingH.264/AVCvideodatahidingmethods,thereadableandbuilt-intypemethodswhichhidedataintothequantizedDCT(DiscreteCosineTransformation)coefficientsareconsideredappropriateforcovertcommunication.Theembeddingerrorformulaoftheluminanceblockresidualdeducedfromthetheoreticalanalysisoftheencoding/decodinganddatahidingproceduresshowsthattheembeddingerrorwithinablockisonlyrelatedtothelocationoftheembeddingcoefficientsandbasicallyindependentonthespecificvideocover.Theembeddingerrorwithinablockwouldpropogatetootherneighboredblocksandaccumulatesbasedontheanalysisoftheintra-frameprediction.Thisphenomenoniscalledtheintra-framedistortiondrift.Analysisoftheaccumulatingprocedureandtheexperimentalresultsshowsthatthedriftproblemwouldbringsignificantdistorti
