AbstractXunziisanencyclopedicthinkerofConfucianism,whosework,Xunzi,isaclassicoftheConfucianSchool,andaresearchobjectofnumerousChinesescholarsthroughages.Hisphilosophicthinkingiswelldocumentedinthisbook,whichmakesitagemofChinesecivilization.However,itstranslationandinfluenceabroadarefarlessthanthoseofLaozi,zhuangzi,andotherChineseclassics.Itwasnotuntiltheendof20thcenturythatthefirstfullEnglishversionofXunziwaspublishedbyanAmericansinologistJohnKnoblock,anditiscurrentlytheonlyfullversioninEnglishworld.Deconstructivephilosophyisopposedtotradition,rationalism,andstructuralism.Thetranslationtheorythatisinfluencedbyphilosophyofdeconstructionisnameddeconstructivetranslationtheory.Itobjectstoseekingabsolute“fidelity”intranslationprocess,andthinksthatitisimpossibletoachieveabsolute“fidelity”.Deconstructivetranslationtheorycallsfortheexpansionoftranslationconcept,andproposesthatattentionshouldbefocusedonsomething“notpresent”thatcannotbedescribedbylanguage.Instructedbydeconstructivetranslationtheory,thisthesisstudiestheEnglishversionofXunzitranslatedbyKnoblock.OwingtotheparticularityofEnglishtranslationofChineseclassics,itanalyzestranslationexamplesextractedfromtheEnglishversionofXunzifromfouraspectsofdeconstructivetranslationtheory:1)deconstructiveconceptsonmeaning,2)deconstructiveconceptsongoaloftranslation,3)deconstructiveconceptsontext,4)translator’ssubjectivity,andgeneralizeseighttranslationstrategiesfrequentlyusedbyKnoblock.Throughthestudy,thisthesisdrawsthefollowingconclusions:SomeconceptsofdeconstructivetranslationtheoryplayaguidingroleinEnglishtranslationofChineseclassics;FourmainconceptsofdeconstructivetranslationtheoryaretrulyembodiedintheprocessoftranslatingChineseclassicsintoEnglish,andsometranslationstrategiesthatcoincidewithdeconstructivetranslationtheoryarebeneficialtotheimprovementofthequalityoftranslation.KeyWords:DeconstructiveTranslationTheory;Xunzi;EnglishTranslationofChineseClassics;TranslationStrategies摘要荀子是儒家思想的集大成者，其著作《荀子》是我国儒家学派的经典，也是古往今来众多中国学者的研究对象。它
