ethanol extract from Radix Angelica sinensis and Radix Astragali (EE) and water extract from Radix Angelica sinensis and Radix Astragali (WE) on pulmonary fibrosis in rat. Compared with model group, both the area of collagen fiber and the extent of alveolus inflammation decreased in the groups of EE and WE. And both the content of Hyp and Lung index in lung tissue also decreased significantly. In the fingerprint study of Astragali and Angelica mixture, we established a high performance liquid chromatography fingerprint method with Diode Array Detection for the simultaneous determination of ethanol extract and water extract from Astragali and Angelica mixture. Though being significantly diffient, the HPLC fingerprint of ethanol extract of Astragali and Angelica mixture and water extract from Astragali and Angelica mixture also had some the same peaks, which would be the effective material basis of Astragali and Angelica mixture.The fingerprint method is simple, accurate, stable and presented good reproducible, it could be used to compare and analyze the samples of Angelica Sinensis and Astragali and Angelica mixture.
