Abstract This thesis studied the geochemical compositions of soils and bedrocks at the geographical site of liquor, the water geochemistry of Chishui River, the inorganic chemical compositions of Daqu, sorghum and liquor, and the following findings were concluded. Purple mudstone and brown sandstone and their geochemical compositions represented the original and unique geology and geochemistry of the geographical site of liquor. The compositions of trace elements and major elements in local soils were derived from the weathering of bedrocks. The factor analysis illustrated that Be, Ni, Rb, Nb, Sr, Y, Sn, Cs, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, Lu, W and Th were the 19 trace elements characterizing the geochemical compositions of local soils of the geographical site of liquor. The trace elements of fermenting grains mainly came from the Daqu, sorghum and Chishui River water, following the order of Daqu sorghum Chishui River. The elements of Y, Cs, Co, Ni and U were the indicating compositions of sorghum, the elements of Li, V, Sr, Mo and U characterized the compositions of water of Chishui River, and the elements of Co, Cu, Sr, Mo, Cs, Ce, Pr, Sm, Dy, Ho, Li, Rb, Y, Zr, Cd, Gd and Pb indicated the inorganic compositions of Daqu. The elements of Al, Ca, Fe, K, Na and Si were detected in the round products of liquor. Among them, the contents of Al, Fe, K and Si were relatively stable, but the concentrations of Ca and Na fluctuated. The elements of Ca and Si were the two major elements rich in liquor. The factor analysis showed that the elements of Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Rb, Y, Cs, La, Pr, U, Li, Sn and Pb characterized the trace element compositions of the round products of liquors, whereas Rb, Zr, Sr, Nb, Sb, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd and Hf were the indicating elements in liquor.
