AbstractAsahighperformancepolymermaterial,thermotropicliquidcrystallinepolymer(TLCP)possessesoutstandingpropertiessuchashighstrengthandmodulus,hightemperatureresistance,self-enhancement,thusTLCPplaysanimportantroleinmodifyingthermosettingresin.Grapheneoxide(GO)obtainsexcellentself-lubricatingandenhancementpropertiesbecauseofitsuniquenanolamellarstructure.SynergisticeffectofTLCPandGOinimprovingmatrixresinhasdrawnwidelyattentions.Inthispaper,grapheneoxidewaspreparedbaseonHummersmethod,andtwokindsofthermotropicliquidcrystallinepolymerPHDTandIA6PHTGweresynthesized.ThenGOwasmodifiedbyPHDTandIA6PHTGtoobtainmodifiedgrapheneoxidec-PHDT/GOandc-IA6PHTG/GO,respectively.Thec-PHDT/GO/PFandc-IA6PHTG/GO/PFcompositeswerepreparedbymoldingmethod.Effectsofc-PHDT/GOandc-IA6PHTG/GOonthepropertiesofPFcompositeswerestudied，andtheresultsareasfollows：GOwasmodifiedbyPHDTandIA6PHTG,thestructureandpropertiesofc-PHDT/GOandc-IA6PHTG/GOwerecharacterizedbyFT-IR,Raman,XRD,TGAandPOM.ResultsshowedthattheinteractionbetweenGOandTLCPwasfoundaccordingtotheredshiftonramantestresult.Thethermalstabilityofc-PHDT/GOandc-IA6PHTG/GOwerebothimprovedcomparedwithGO,andthenewXRDpeaksofc-PHDT/GOandc-IA6PHTG/GOindicatedthatthestructureofmodifiedGOhasbeenchanged.Moreover,thebirefringenttexturewereobservedinc-IA6PHTG/GOandc-PHDT/GOhybridmaterial.ThepropertiesofPFcompositeimprovedbyaddingc-PHDT/GO.ComparedwithGO/PFandp-PHDT/GO/PF(p-PHDT/GOisamixtureofPHDTandGOwithphysicalmixing)composites,theimpactstrength,flexuralstrengthandinitialstoragemodulusincreasedby27.6%and11.1%,11.8%and7.6%,16.2%and4.2%,respectively.However,thewearmassdecreasedby12.7%and8.8%.ThemechanicalpropertiesofPFcompositeswereoptimalwhentheadditionofc-PHDT/GOwas0.75%.Inaddition,thewearmassofcompositeswasthelowestwhenthec-PHDT/GOcontentwere0.5%and0.75%.Moreover,theinitialstoragemodulusofcompositesincreasedby28.4%byadding0.75%c-PHDT/GOcomparedwithpurePFcomposite.Theadditionofc-IA6PHTG/GOimprovedthepropertiesofPFcomposite,.ComparedwithGO/PFandp-IA6PHTG/GO/PF
