More emphasis on campus landscape design is required as dramatic changes are emerging along with the increasing scale and scope of university construction, i.e. it is the demand from both teachers and students on campus that matters in the specified situation as studied in the thesis. The thesis starts with an overall general on university environment, before moving on to study the particular psychological demands rising form the subjects within the environment so as to probe into the application of psychological elements in campus landscape design. With a combined methodology of theoretical research and case analysis, the thesis sets forth from the psychological elements of specified subjects within the university environment, identifies three key research objectives and elaborates on their interactive relationship, namely psychology, behavior and environment. The problem is raised that how to realize truly human oriented design on the space environment of university to cater to the various demands from massive subjects and meanwhile in line with the principle of education for all-round development. Thus the thesis makes due theoretical analysis on the problem and simultaneously picks out several universities for survey conduction, employing convincing case study to support the analysis.
