(2) To investigate the value of evaluating the fetal growth restriction from ventricular functions. Methods: (1) To analyze impacts which gestational ages and fetal heart rates will be on Tei index as well as their differences and connections between left and right ventricle.The Tei index was worked out by ejection time, isovolumetric contraction and relaxation time, what were obtained by measuring the Doppler time interval of the inflow and outflow tracts of both ventricles in 233 normal fetuses during the gestational age between 20 and 40 weeks by spectral Doppler echocardiography. (2) To compare between the FGR and normal control groups to find out whether there are any differences, following the comparison between the Tei indexes of left and right fetal ventricles with the purpose of detecting differences and connections; lastly, analyze the influence of fetal heart rates in the Tei index on FGR fetuses.Measured the Doppler time interval of the inflow and outflow tracts of both ventricles in 134 normal and 35 FGR fetuses during the gestational age ranging from 26 to 40 weeks by spectral Doppler echocardiography. Results: (1) Between 20 and 40 weeks of pregnancies, the 95% reference value range for the Tei indexes of left and right ventricles in normal fetuses are 0.385±0.094 and 0.419±0.127, No difference were observed about the Tei index of both ventricles between fetuses of different gestational ages or heart rates(P0
