II II Abstract The existence of modern Chinese traditional consumption makes our social progress build on a one-sided, deformity value selection, resulting in natural ecological deteriorating, a huge amount of resources be wasting and environment problems becoming more and more serious, these have a serious impact on the economic development, endanger human survival foundation. Facing the unharmonious on human, nature and economic, environmental protection and resource conservation is particularly important. The “Two types society” means “resource conservation type and environmental protection type society”, it act as the economic society development chief task at “eleven five” term, it reflects the deepening of the concept of scientific development and the theory of harmonious society. How to realize the “two types society”, from the view of consumption patterns, the author thinks that the most important is to change the traditional consumption mode, implement sustainable consumption patterns which is in accordance with the “two types society” construction goal. This article points out that traditional consumption mode is actually an unsustainable consumption mode, is not accordance with the “two types society” construction goal, causing serious damage on resource and environmental. The consumer, consumption level, consumption patterns under the traditional consumption mode are both factors causing these hazards. The author believes that the sustainable consumption mode is such a mode, this mode follow the rules of economic, society, nature, can realize the economic growth and society progress under the bearing capacity of environment and resource, can optimization the contemporary and future generations’ needs, can satisfy human’s physical, mental, nature needs. This consumption mode is scientific, healthy and civilized, resource conservation and environmental protection, so it is the consumption mode conforms to the “two types society” construction goal.
