万方数据 万方数据 Abstract Abstract After entering the WTO, China begins to contact more and more with other countries in the world, mainly in international trade, traveling, exchange students, etc. Every country has its own culture, and it is becoming more and more important to know foreign culture so that people can better communicate with other countries. As the biggest country in North Europe with most multinational cooperation, Swedish culture has been the key research subject. Xenophobe’s Guide to the Swedes introduces the Swedes from their patriotism, character, value, belief and manners in a humorous and logical way. Readers will have a comprehensive understanding of the Swedes after reading the book. Free translation is the main translation strategy, with imitation of original text writing style as the alternative strategy. The translation report consists of four parts. The first part describes translation material. The second part is translation process. The third part analyses translation examples from lexical, syntactic and rhetoric aspects. The last part is translation summary based on the translation practice.
