II II Abstract The appellation has a long history in China and the academic study of relative appellation terms word has made many achievements. At present, the description of the book’s relative appellation words is still not enough. Description, analysis and comparison are three main methods. Also, this paper combines the research method of vocabulary study and pragmatics study. In this way, this paper tries to study the relative appellation words of The Cycle to Wake (Lun Hui Xing Shi) and classify and generalize them: First, the rebirth of reality in the relative appellation words is extremely abundant. There are not only many colloquial relative appellation words but also a lot of colorful words with Chinese classical relative appellation words among them. These two aspects well reflect the novel property which is half classical Chinese and half colloquial. Second, in these 241 relative appellation words，by comparing the number of monosyllabic relative appellation words and polyphony, you will find that there is only a little development in the single syllable relative appellation words. It mainly uses the relative appellation words of the pre-qin and han dynasties. However, great development has taken place in polyphony relative appellation words. The number of polyphony relative appellation words is much larger than the former. In general, the development of Chinese relative appellation words reflects the trend of the double syllable of Chinese vocabulary.
