摘要 摘要 万方数据 万方数据 II Abs Abstract Abstract The Land of Cockagine, an ancient and mysterious topic, as well as all the other kinds of imaginary land like earthly paradise, Utopia and Shangri-La, is what the humankind has been dreaming of in all ages. This is a compensation for their sufferings and inner pain, and a longing for a better life. This practice report is a summary of the translation process based on the translation of Chapter 21, 22 and 23 of Dreaming of Cockagine：Medieval Fantasies of the Perfect Life by Herman Pleij, a Dutch litterateur, historian and expert on the study of European Middle Ages. The report mainly covers four parts. The first part is the brief introduction of the translation material; the second part is the translation procedure, including the preparation, modification, polishing and finalization of the translation; the third part is the case analysis, in which the author analyzes the difficulties and solutions of the translation from four aspects: vocabulary, syntax, text and culture; and the fourth part is the summary of the translation practice, mainly the experience and lessons the author has learned from the translation process.
