三 三 峡 大 学 MTI 硕 士 学 位 论 文 ii ii Abstract The book Practical Real Estate Law written by Daniel F. Hinkel is a widely used book in American, which has been published for several times and has a great amount of audience; but this book has no Chinese version in China until now. The translation project breaks through the traditional technology-oriented freelance translation, it is a management-oriented project operated by a team of three members. Each member translates one chapter, then studies its translation skills and strategies, and discusses problems or shares experience in the project management. Chapter Five “Easement and License” is the translation task of the author, this chapter mainly introduces the uses of an easement, how to identify the various of kinds of creation and termination, and explains the purpose of a license and distinguish it from an easement Based on the translation of Chapter Five, this report mainly discusses how to understand lexical and syntactic legal language and reconstruct them into Chinese; the report also gives a discussion on project operation, coordination and some other aspect of the management procedure. The report is divided into four parts: Part 1 is an introduction of the project and the book. Part 2 focuses on the difficulties and corresponding solutions of some lexical and syntactic problems in the translation. Part 3 gives a details introduction on contents and procedures of the project. Part 4 summarizes the translation project.
