In order to make more foreigners know Chinese culture, a number of ancient Chinese classics need to be translated into English. The ancient Chinese classics are loaded with intensive cultural information. Due to various reasons for a long time, the translated versions of some ancient Chinese classics are comparatively rare, and even there are some wrong usages, which hinder the international communication seriously and reduce the effect to draw the foreigners’ attention. At present, many experts and scholars from different perspectives have done numerous and valuable researches into English translation of ancient Chinese classics, which can shed light on and boost English translation of ancient Chinese classics. The ancient Chinese classics not only belong to China but also to the world. In order to promote the influence of cultural classics of our country and improve the quality of Chinese international cultural communication, this report, in the example of the Family Sayings of Confucius, has done research on the cultural classics. During the process, first, the translator researches source text and summarizes its stylistic features. Then, she provides the background of the task, the task description, and translation process.
