II II A Study on the Adjectives in Guanzi Abstract Guanzi is a book in the Warring States Period.The core content of Guanzi is a series of practical work about governing the country and the welfare of the people of CuanZhong, the prime minister in the Spring and Autumn Period Qi .Although the book dates back more than two thousand years, people from every walk of life today can still learn the wisdom and revelation from it. Guanzi is not only a historical and cultural heritage which the sage leaves behind,it also has rich value in linguistics .The paper focuses on the adjectives of the book .With comprehensive statistics, word frequency analysis and the previous research methods and results of the pre-Qin Chinese adjectives, we summed up a wide range of features of the adjectives of Guanzi . We conduct research from the following aspects:Introduction, This part is the preparation of the research .The main content is the brief introduction about the finishing years and the author of Guanzi, GuanZhong’life, Literature overview of the adjectives of pre-Qin books and the purpose and significance of the research.Analysis of monophonic adjectives and polyphonic adjectives of Guanzi. Do word frequency statistics of the monophonic adjectives; analyse the formation type and structural features of the polyphonic adjectives,such as the quantity, historical development and affix.Semantic research. Combined with the semantic field theory, we analyse the semantic classification and semantic features of the adjectives and the meaning of the High-frequency adjectives.Grammar research. We analyse the syntactic function and the sentence pattern.Pragmatic study. We analyse the pragmatic Features. From the above study, we can get a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the adjectives of Guanzi.
