摘 要 左宗棠是近代著名的历史人物，其为学事功都对后世产生了较大影响。在 强国富民、兴利除弊的探索实践中，左宗棠以其深厚的理学背景，坚持经世致 用学说，即主张“穷经以致用”，并以此为理论指导积极地创建功业，创建了 许多著名的近代企业。左宗棠的经世致用思想受传统与时局的双重影响，后来 又开始向近代转变，促使左宗棠积极地去接近西方事物，因此兰州机器织呢局 的创办并不是偶然。无论是入仕前在家乡的躬身实践，还是从政后为强国富民 而作出的探索，无不透露出了这一指导思想。兰州机器织呢局是我国第一个机 器纺织企业，它的创办是左宗棠经世致用思想向近代转变后的重要实践，从创 办设想到创办过程，都体现出了近代的新鲜气息，但是也因其客观存在的思想 局限性，成为织呢局失败的一个重要因素。 关键词： 左宗棠，经世致用思想，兰州机器织呢局，近代纺织业 IV ABSTRACT Zuo Zongtang is a distinguished historical figure in the modern history of China, whose learning and enterprise have great influence on later generations. In the exploration practice, he is active in enforcing the country and enriching the people, promoting what is beneficial and abolishing what is harmful, and he has built many famous modern enterprises. Academically, he, with a deep Neo-Confucianism background, insists on the thought of administration and pragmatism, advocating “making study serve practical purposes”, based on which he establishes great achievements positively. The thought is revealed both from his practice in hometown before the official career and his exploration of enforcing the country and enriching the people during the official career, so the foundation of Lanzhou machinery textile factory is not by chance. Lanzhou machinery textile factory is the first textile enterprise that makes use of machine, whose establishment is an important practice of his modernized thought of administration and pragmatism. However, due to its objectively existing limitation, the thought finally becomes the major factor for the failure of Lanzhou textile factory.
