II II Correlation between Urbanization and Increasing Farms’ Income: A Study of Henan Province Abstract Urbanization is a process that the human economic activities are assembled in the urban and the rural population transfers to the urban. Urbanization is an irreversible trend that rural develops and it is the only way that backward agricultural country steps to developed industrial country. Throughout the history of the developed countries’ development, without exception, they have experienced the process that non-agricultural rural labor shift to city. Along with the development of the rural population to the city mobility and migration, transformation of farmers into urban residents, the vast majority of the population from small scale to large scale scattered concentration change, which create the conditions for sustained and rapid development. And farmers also get higher economies of scale and aggregation effect. Generally speaking, the rate of urbanization in most of developed countries was about 80%. In a certain, the development of the civilization of human society is one that is from jungle to plain, from the village to the city. Henan is a large province of agriculture and population. Since the reform and opening up, the process of urbanization continuously was pushing forward. The rate of urbanization of Henan increased from fifteen point five percentage in 1990 to forty point four in 2012; the per capital net income of rural households grew from ￥526.95 in 1990 to ￥7 524.94 in 2012. The wage income’s annual growth rate, which ranks of rural households income growth rate top, from 1990 to 2012, is 16.6%. At the same time, the farmers’ wage income, agricultural income and operating income are positively related to the urbanization rate.
