II Abstract Electronic government adoption is the focus of many research studies. However, The current research is mainly about the initial adoption. Information systems (IS) literature is mostly silent on what really contributes to the success of e–government Web sites.The success of e–government depends on the intention to continue using rather than the intention to use.The primary objective of this paper is to identify critical factors of influencing e–government success. Following the theory of reasoned action（TRA）as applied to a technology–driven environment， technology acceptance model（TAM）variables（perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use）are posited as key drivers of e–government acceptance. The practical utility of TAM stems from the fact that e-government is technology-driven. The proposed model integrates trust and perceived risk, which are incorporated given the implicit uncertainty of the e-government environment. This study proposed a robust model integrates trust,perceived risk and technology acceptance model（TAM）,The model is tested via a survey of 246 e-government Web site users. The results show that trust in government, but not trust in technology, is positively related to trust in e-government Web sites. Further, trust in e-government Web sites is positively related to perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Trust in e-government Web sites is negatively related to perceived risk.The TAM constructs and perceived risk have different effects on “intention to continue” using the Web site and “satisfaction” with the Web site. The empirical study confirms that the proposed model can explain the success of e–government adequately.It will be useful for the success of e–government that to strengthen the trust and reduce the risk factors.In addition, it is important to consider the role of trust and perceived risk as well as TAM construsts in understanding e-government success.
