Abstract Nowadays, our country is in the period that urbanization accelerates to develop. The increasing pattern of cities, especially the metropolitans located at developed districts, has transformed from extensive to collective. Large-scale urban demolition for reconstruction, as a key character of the stage of urban collective development, has gradually became an important component of city development. Meanwhile, under the market economy system, the rapid growth of city economy results in the critical change of social structure and generates diverse social strata. Because of the various kinds of conflicts that come from the processes in which different social strata seek for benefit , and the fact that current legislation is not a so perfect system, the social injustice spring out endlessly during the process of urban renewal. It is a principle rule of urban development and redevelopment that we should archive the compatible development of social benefits, economic benefits and environment benefits. Among of them, meeting social benefits is the core and ultimate goal of the three benefits. Under the diverse condition of a market economy, whether or not can maintaining the social justice is the key to realize social benefits and guarantee social harmony. By the means of theorize analysis and investigation research, this thesis points out the intensions, reasons and existing problems of the relocation for reconstruction., and find out the interpretation and the value of social justice in urban demolition and renovation. On the basis of summarizing theories and cases from the domestic and international theory, the author proposes several measures to realize social justice in the process of the relocation for reconstruction. First, the thesis points out the intensions, meaning sand relevant measures from the aspect of social insurance system. Then, from aspect of social system upgrade, it seeks to social harmony and consistent with sustainable development patterns
