Abstract Abstract 1 1 2 2 Consciousness of citizenship refers to a social member’s subjective cognition on the relationships between himself and the country he lives in， the positions he belongs and functions he plays in this society。 Li Shenzhi said that the disparities between China and other developed counties lie in Chinese people’s lacking of consciousness of citizenship。 Ingels， the famous American sociologist once said that only when the citizens of a country are modern people， and the citizens’ psychologies and behaviors are equipped with modern consciousness of citizenship that this country can be called a real modern country。 The consciousness of citizenship is the requirements of democratic politics and modernization constructions。 Because of the objective and subjective influences from both historical and present situations that Chinese citizens have not formed consciousness of citizenships which they should have。 Today China’s modernization constructions and political system reforms are calling for modern citizens equipped with national consciousness， consciousness of citizenship， consciousness of rights and responsibilities and consciousness of taking part in China’s modernization constructions。 University students are the hopes and futures of China because they have received high educations。 The consciousness of citizenship of university students means a lot to the promotion and realization of China’s political regime reformations and modernization constructions。 The present endeavor makes researches on university student’s consciousness of citizenship， and focuses on the current situations of university students’ consciousness of citizenship and relevant strategies。 In order to accomplish this take， methods of references research， investigation， communication and detailed analysis are used。 By random investigations the author finds out that the current situations of university student’s consciousness of citizenship are mainly reflected in their
