Hobbies are thought to be not only relaxing, but also good for people to develop their personality. Both parents and schools shoud encourage children to have hobbies. Some hobbies include private lessons such as music or dance lessons. Many schools provide after-school clubs or avtivities for children to develop such hobbies as painting, dancing or putting on plays. Most of the students have their own hobbies. many hobbies can be done on one’s own such as stamp or coin collecting, pottery making or sewing. More and more often people are choosing sports activities for their hobbies as ways of combining exercise with relaxation. Many people believe that exercise is good both for the body and for the mind. They say that exercise helps them lose weight, become more attractive, or keep the shape they have as they get older. Some people say that exercise helps them relax. These people think that exercise will help them avoid health problems—such as heart disease. An English proverb says , “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.One should work hard, and one should also learn how to rest. There is always a clear difference between “work hours”and “after-work hours”.To develop one’s hobbies is one of the important activities of the after-work hours.
