It consists of ∀Th Starting Point of R s arch∀ ( SPR) , ∀Th Epist mological Basis of R s arch∀ ( EBR) and ∀Th Acad mically Cognitiv Position of R s arch∀ ( ACPR) . SPR is th cor assumption of all disciplin s. It is not a conc pt but a proposition. SPR of Law and Economics ( L E) is that individuals alw ays act to mak rational choic s. It is a∀rational choic th ory∀. Th r is consid rabl d bat w ithin lawand conomics communiti s about pr cis ly w hat rational choic th ory is and four opinions ar dominant: ( 1) Th D finition V rsion, which argu s that rationality is und rstood as suiting m ans to nds. ( 2) Th Exp ct d Utility V rsion, which argu s that individuals mak rational choic s through comparing th xp ct d utility of diff r nt actions. ( 3) Th S lfInt r st V rsion.
