AbstractIt Abstract It is the key field and pioneer issue we facing with the rapid development of current urban agriculture to expand and develop urban agricultural multifunetionality．Therofore,the supporting theory and technology system are needed to be set up∞quickly,in order to inwove the sustainable urban agriculture． In this paper,the咖dy 011 the theories and practice of urban agricultural咖ltil砸ncⅡoIlaHty has been done systematicaily and dc印lywhich is based on rural development theory,modern urban agriculture theory,agriculture primary theory,agricultural modernization theory and overall planning urban and mrai development theory．The system method，quanfity and quality analysis method，structure and stratification analysis methods，standard and practice analysis method has been used in this dissertation as well．Great focused on the models selection，evaluation system,technology backing system,supporting system and development measures have been paid，and three innovation issues are discussed as followings． Firstly,the models selection of urban agricultural multifunctionality has been analyzed systematically．According to the local conditions and standard of local economy,the models of intemationai multifunctionality of a#culmre shown with common and special characters．The case snldy has been done as the practicing analysis．which is taken Shanghai as example．China has the basic situation of huge population,comparatively shortage of nature resouroes，low ecological standing capability,and these determine that the developing models of urban agriculture in China should be quite different from those in other countries．In China,developing urban agricultum have to base on the production and economy function，meanwhile pay attention functions ofecology,society and culture． Concretely,the typical models are metropolitan a鲥culturo represented by Beijing，Shanghai and Shenzhen，large and medium size urban agriculture represented by SOme provincial and coastal cities etc． The urban a
