Seismic exploration is an important means of the detection of gas hydrates, many of the characteristics of the seismic data can be used to identify the submarine gas hydrates, especially plays an important role in identifying Bottom Simulating Reflector (BSR). The seismic attribute is an important way to attain reservoir parameters which refers to the special measure on the geometry, kinematics, dynamics and statistical properties derived from seismic data. In recent years, seismic attribute plays an important role in reservoir description, seismic structure interpretation. The main content of this paper is how the seismic attribute can be applied to the identification of gas hydrates. Pre-stack seismic data contains a wealth of geological information, and therefore can be used to extract seismic attribute profiles. The instantaneous attributes can provide more concise and more intuitive earthquake information by decomposing the stacked seismic data and producing instantaneous amplitude, instantaneous frequency and instantaneous phase profile.
