ABSTRACTTechnology ABSTRACT Technology transfer has the key effect to the economic development of the district, SO has the leading meaning of the theories and practice to its evaluation．The economic development in Jiangsu has always been heading the class in China,while its science and technology development plays a leading role too．So it is worth to think about how to make the process of technology transfer profitable．And how to evaluate the technology transfer performance completely and rightly． The thesis define the connotation of the technology transfer clearly and clarified that technology transfer is a process that gather commercialization,industrialization and capitalization into the whole，and then analyzes the difference between other concepts that close to technology transfer,such as technique innovation technique pervasion etc． This paper gives the general description of present situation of the technology transfer in Jiangsu from the five aspects of staff base，capital base，the existing Scientific and technological achievements，production and application level as well as social benefits．The thesis uses spss 1 2．0 to demonstrate the technology transfer in Jiangsu and gets the conclusion that the level of transfer in Jiangsu ranks in the top class of the whole country through the factor analysis．In the year of 2006and 2007，Jiangsu ranked the fourth，but in the year of 2008,jiangsu ranks the fifth in the whole country． Jiangsu has the strong ability of introducing technology and innovation and does a good job in the transformation of traditional industries as well．Jiangsu has solid competitiveness but puts less human and material resources into technology transfer, and also have a disadvantage in experiment capacity．At all，it has a space to develop． Finally the paper presents several suggestions of how to promote technology transfer in Jiangsu according to the conclusions of empirical analysis， Key words：technology transfer,evaluation，principal components anal
