Unit 2 How often do you exercise?
Section B (1a-1e)Ⅰ.Analysis of teaching material1.The topic of this unit is about free time activities. It’s related to students’ daily life. So it is helpful to raise learning interest of students. If students can learn this unit well,it will be helpful to make students learn the the rest of this book.2 .Teaching aims and demands(1) Knowledge ObjectIn this unit students learn to talk about how often they do things.(2)Ability objectsTo improve students’ ability of listening and speaking.(3)Moral objectsTo help students form a good living habit.To do exercise every day and keep fit.3 .Teaching key pointTo master the key vocabulary and the target language presented in this period.4 .Teaching difficult pointTo train students how to use the key vocabulary and the target language to talk about their daily routines.5. Teaching waysTeach students how to use context.Teach students how to use what they have learned to talk about their daily life.
Teaching Procedures:Step 1 Greeting.1. Teacher: Ask students some questions about what they did in summer vacations.
Step2 Leading – inTeacher: There is a very important traditional Chinese festival in September, what’s it?
Lead Ss to talk about the Mid-Autumn Festival and mooncakes. Ask Ss how often they eat mooncakes.
Step3 Free talk
Ss ask each other questions about their daily life routines, such as: How often do you drink milk? / How often do you eat vegetables?... according to the flashcards.
Step 4 Look and say (1a)
Ss look at the words and pictures in (1a), match them and then ask and answer in pairs using the conversation sample in (1b)
Step 5 Listening practice
Play the tape for Ss to listen for the first time, circle the answers in (1c)
Then Ss listen again, try to fill in the blanks in (1d)
Step 6. An interview
With the information they have filled in (1d), one student interview other members in his / her groups.
