Although with the huge investment, the operation effect is not satisfactory. Compared with book distribution center in Europe and the United States even in East Asian, it also has big disparity. How to effectively improve the efficiency of book distribution center becomes an urgent problem to be solved. This thesis aims at the problems of logistics management, choosing a medium scale book distribution center as the research object, from the perspective of production operation and management, using TOC (Theory of Constraints) thought and methods, effectively integrated logistics and distribution management technology and logistics automation technology, to study how to improve the efficiency of book distribution center. First of all, reference the development and the status of book distribution center both at home and abroad, the difference between distribution center and other industry logistics is analyzed, determining the efficiency evaluation index. Secondly, according to the book distribution center operation characteristics, using the TOC and Five Focusing Steps identify the distribution center of bottleneck. Finally, the strategy of improving the efficiency of the distribution center is proposed. In this paper, it also creates reaction sorting equilibrium model, and through the experimental data it demonstrates the validity of the model. This study is not only an important theoretical significance to guide improving the efficiency of book distribution center, but also guiding with operation practice of automatic logistics system in large book distribution center.
