辽宁师范大学硕士学位论文摘要 辽宁师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 被动语态是英语中一个非常重要的语法点。国内外的语言学家对于被动语态及其教 学做了很多研究。被动语态是人类认知发展的产物，不同语态反映了语言使用者在描述 同一事件中所采用的不同视角。如果语言使用者选择施事视角，就会采用主动语态；如 果语言使用者选择受事视角，就会采用被动语态。总之，被动语态的选择过程是人类的 一个认知过程，在这个过程中，语言使用者选择受事视角去识解一个事件，运用被动语 态去表达其认知结果。 因为被动语态必须与人类认知相结合，所以被动语态教学也要采用认知视角。然而， 被动语态教学仍存在着一些难点，尤其是对于被动语态使用的教学。本论文以图形一背 景理论为基础分别对怎样教授被动语态的形式，意义及使用进行了分析。图形一背景理 论认为：主体的知觉认知往往包括图形和背景两部分信息。人们总倾向于在背景中感知 图形。图形是包含于背景之中但又突出于背景的成分，在认知中占优势，而背景相对于 图形来说，在认知中不占优势。认知语言学家认为被动语态是图形一背景这一理论在句 法层面上的一种体现。一般情况下，人们在使用被动语态时会把受事者感知为图形，置 于句子的主语位置，而把施事者感知为背景。图形一背景理论对于被动语态的解释不仅 有着其理论意义，而且在英语语法教学方面有着其重要的实践意义。因此，本论文还在 中学采用了对比实验的方法进行了实验教学。笔者分别设定了实验班和控制班。在控制 班采用传统方法教授被动语态；在实验班采用以图形一背景理论为基础的认知方法教授 被动语态。认知教学方法充分考虑到了学生在语言学习过程中的认知因素。对比实验结 果也充分证明了认知教学方法较传统教学方法相比的高效率性。希望本研究能够在理论 和实践上对英语语法教学和学习有所启示和帮助。 关键词：图形．背景理论：英语被动语态’1认知教学 A A Cognitive Study the Passive Voice in English：Figure—Ground Perspective A Cognitive Study on the Passive Voice in English：Figure—Ground Perspective Abstract The passive voice is an essential grammar point in English．Linguists both at home and abroad have done many researches about the passive voice as well as passive voice teaching． The passive voice is the product of human cognition development．Different voices reflect different perspectives adopted by language users in the process of describing an event．If the perspective of the agent is chosen，the language user will use the active voice．If the perspective of the patient is chosen，the language user will use the passive voice．In a word， the choice of the passive voice actually is a process of human cognition，in which language users choose the perspective of the patient to construe an event，and use the passive voice to present the result of its cognition． Since the analysis of passive voice can not separated from human cognition，passive voice teaching should adopt the cognitive perspective．Nevertheless，there still exist many difficulties for students’learning passive voice especially difficulties in the use of the passive voice．The thesis
