Supplied w ith the information in 2003, the results show ed that there w ere 9 species of insect in Spartina anglica distributed areas and 49 species in reed distributed areas. T he number of insect species w as significantly less in Spartina anglica distributed areas than that in reed distributed areas and the greater difference of dominant species w as also observed. T herefore, the community structure and composition of insect are affected by the invasion of Spartina anglica.
