In twenties of this century, the American Dr. W.A. Shewart proposed the quality control theory which could give alarms to the process whenever it was abnormal and has been widely used. But it apply producing of a great deal of products .and don’t apply producing process of small batch. As the small volume production becomes more and more popular, how to use SPC methods including quality control charts and how to use the classical quality control ways to production of small batch, have important value. In this paper, the application and its problems about statistical process control in contemporary manufacturing mode are researched. Based on the characteristics of small batch production, the application scope and the advantages and disadvantages have researched by comparison on the existing small batch quality control methods. Based on these, the author has researched a new quality control chart based on pre-control method suitable for small batch production. By these new control charts, the suitable control limits are able to build when the production begins. This method can use the acquired quality data to pre-control for the next product and avoid the waste product effectively. According to the front research and combining the enterprise’ production status, the users’ needs of quality manage and control system for the small-batch production are analyzed. Successionally, the structure of the system is designed, and the functions should be included in this system are analyzed.
