II II ABSTRACT The overrunning of opium made modern China disasterridden,and gravely obstacled the economic development and social progress of modern Hunan province,it was the main reason that society was weak and sluggish during modern Hunan province. especially since the Republic of China, Hunan has experienced more complex procedure of banning opium ,in this paper, it combines the modern history of overrunning opium environment, during Hunan Province of the Republic of China , gave the management of opium, the hazard of overrunning opium,the resistance of badding opium and so on, does a comprehensive and macro explain, in order to enrich the local Hunan history of this historical period of research. In order to get rid of long-standing overrunning opium, to save the decadent social winds, all the National Government and the Hunan provincial government worked a certain amount of effort to ban on opium,had gone through the Early Republic of China government in Nanjing and two-year anti-drug, six years anti-overrunning opium, the two great Campaign had achieved stage results.Bcause of the baned on the fundamental principle of political shortcomings, political and economic corruption ,through the opium to make a profit, and many other factors, the Governments of the Republic of China Hunan from all walks of life for overrunning opium were not reflected in the total, it did not cure the Social ills, but also doomed to root out the opium could not complete its historic mission. Lesson, a guide for the future, In any case, Hunan Province in the Republic of Chinas ban on opium in the positive efforts and achievements for future generations sum up history, revealed the problem, lessons learned, no doubt has a very positive reality Significance, as well as Hunan and even the current national anti-opium struggle, provided valuable historical reference.
