硕士学位论文MASTER’STHESIS 硕士学位论文 MASTER’STHESIS Abstract As the developing of globalization,a uew way of diplomacy--Public Diplomacy is rising．In the information globalization era,publics and public reviews make more and more influence to a country’s foreign policy．Public diplomacy also reveals its importance in great nations’diplomacy gradually,and it becomes all important way to step up their international influence for many great nations．This paper intends to discuss the problems of shaping and stepping up Chinese national image by analyzing the relationship between public diplomacy and national image in the giobalization era． In the first part,we defined what the public diplomacy was and analyzed its feature in the globalization era which would be an era to push public diplomacy vigorously for shaping and stepping up a country’s national image．Then we跚gather much more“soft power’which is one of the main ways to achieve the national interests． In the second part，we analyzed the relationship between public diplomacy and national image in the globalization era．By comprehending the meaning of national image and analyzing the function of public diplomacy on shaping and stepping up national image，we thought the“national image”，as a reflection of“soft power，relates to whether a country could achieve its greatest political and economic interest by the least cost or not，to achieve its short and long term objects，to its political status and economic participant level in the international society and its freely manoeuvring ability ou its owu power in intemational stage．These are the precondition and purpose to develop public diplomacy．By analyzing the relationship between foreign policy and diplomatic action，we found that a country could develop public diplomacy by information communication,medium’s function,cultural influence and so on which would be great function to shape and step up national image．The public diplomacy and national image gets the relationship of promoting ea
