A Cognitive Approach to the Sublimation Theory of Translation

From the perspective of cognitive linguistics and cognitive stylistics ，this paper reinterprets Qian Zhongshus Sublimation
Theory of Translation． It analyzes the constitution of the theory ，and elaborates on the cognitive basis of the theory as well as the
cognitive operations implied． It is hoped that such reinterpretation and operationalization of traditional translation thought will con-
tribute to the application of the theory to practice ，including the teaching practice．
