Unit 5 Describing things contestant:Shi Huijun Textbook for Vocational students Wu Xue Normal School Wu Xue Vocational-technical School The speaking material is about how to describe a box, a car, a table, a building and a bridge. By studying this part, the students can know how to describe things in their life. This is the second part in Uint 5 in Book Two. The topic of the speaking material is related to every student. If the students learn it well, it will be easy for the students to talk about the objects. Such as color, size and it will be helpful for their future teaching. Analysis of the teaching material Part 1 Most of the students come from the countryside. They haven’t mastered English well in Junior middle school. They are not very interested in English learning All my students will be teachers in kindergarten. They are curious about new things and concrete objects. They like singing and dancing and They like taking part in different activities. Analysis of the students Teaching Aims: Knowledge objects: The students can master the basic words and phrases. The students can understand what the teacher and the other students described.. The students can use the sentence patterns to talk about the different objects in proper situation. Part 2 To develop the students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. To train the students’ ability of working in pairs Emotion objects: Let the students understand describing things in English is not so difficult. If they try hard to learn English , learning English will be very interesting. By learning the speaking material, the students can know describing things is just a piece of cake, they should love it. Ability objects: Teaching important and difficult points : Let the students know how to describe things. To master some useful adjectives To know how to use some sentence patterns.
