WSQ Network Cable and Device Naming Convention Standard – April 18 2016 青岛影视产业园网络电缆及设备编号规则 － 2016年4月18日 Objective 目标 Proper labeling of each network cable to indicate where it starts and ends is very important in managing a large campus network. Industry best practice is to use a unique location identifier based on a combination of building code, floor, ELV room, rack / patch panel number and port to identify a network cable end. The identifier is usually in the format: 对每个网络线缆进行合理编号，表明起止点，对于大型园区网络管理十分重要。行业做法是使用一套独一无二的点位识别组合码，组成如下：建筑编号、楼层、弱电间、机柜/跳线号、端口，来识别网络电缆末端点位。识别码格式如下： BBBB-FF-R-PORT BBBB(建筑号)－FF(楼层)－R(机柜)－PORT(端口) This document details the standard in defining location identifier and naming convention for network devices. 详细如下 Building Identifier 建筑编号 A location identifier begins with a Building Code BBBB. Each building in WSQ campus is assigned with a unique Building Code, such as S01 and S02, which is listed in the Appendix. Please note that WSQ has renumbered the buildings.
